Treaty Based Mapping

A primary objective of the Robinson Huron Waawiindaamaagewin initiative is to build internal capacity regarding GIS mapping for the purpose of:

• Monitoring the ecosystem within Robinson Huron Treaty Territories
• Assist in creating a resource development policy for the Robinson Huron Treaty Territories
• Determine FN understanding of Treaty boundaries for each of their areas
• Deal with overlapping claims to the same Treaty areas such as Williams Treaty, Algonquin Land Claim and address jurisdictional encroachment by the Metis Nation
